A HUGE "Thank you!" Going out to Will Jackson and Willy J's Pro Shop at AMF Bristol Pike Lanes bowling alley!! They have so kindly hung one of our flyers in the window of their shop!!! The love we have felt has been enormous - we are still receiving donations, almost on a daily basis! Don't forget- our 1st donation drop off will be October 14th at Capital Health, and we will be taking donations up until that very day! Thank you all so much!

She is with us every day....

Hey everyone! I hope this update finds you well. We are doing well... honestly, we are. There are bad moments, and days of course, but overall, we really are doing well.

We continue to receive many donations of layettes, hats and booties, and with each one, it is apparent how much of a difference our daughter has made, is making, and will continue to make, and we find that absolutely astounding. I have to be honest, I have been slacking on the ironing on of Skylar's Wish tags.... the outfits are starting to build up, so that is definitely on the agenda for this upcoming week (I actually think that I have to order more tags, we don't have enough for all the outfits that we've received!! How awesome is that!?).

I recently found out that October 9th to the 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss awareness week. How coincidental is that, that October 14th, Skylar would have been 6 months old, we've planned to make the 1st donation to the hospital on that day, and it just happens to fall during the week of Infant and Pregnancy Loss Awareness week?  I sincerely believe that our daughter is with us, and this is not just a coincidence. I believe it to be a sign, and I will take it.

We are still collecting donations, so please spread the word!!! I also have a flyer that I would be happy to e-mail you if you would like to hang it in your place of business, or on a community billboard. I feel as though we are doing a great thing here, giving families who will endure a tragic loss something concrete to hold on to, to remind them of their angel babies in the future- spread the word!

Thank each and every one of you for the care, compassion and generosity you have shown us in our beautiful daughters name.

Have a great week!!

Love,

Lindsay & Wayne

Hey there, everyone! Just wanted to post a little update, the donations have kept coming in, almost on a daily basis- we are doing great!

-We've been blessed to be contacted by amazing business owners who have offered their places of business as drop off locations. While we are still getting started with this whole project right now so, at this time, we are not in need of drop off points... Karen, who owns Flower Girl Florist, has offered her flower shop to us now and in the future. She is a great lady and we are honored that she wants to help us- in turn we'd love to help her! If you happen to be in need of flowers in the near future, please check out her website http://www.flowergirlflorist.com/ as well as her facebook page (like it!)  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Flower-Girl-Florist/342640363970 ... Thank you Karen!

-Skylar's Wish has gone international! Yesterday, we received a package from the United Kingdom! While we are happy and grateful for each and every donation we receive, we were quite excited about this.

I plan on ironing more patches onto the clothes we've received some night this week, so there will be another number update after that happens- we can't wait to see how many outfits we are up to now(not to mention hats and booties!). We are incredibly happy at the response we've received, and are so glad that so many people are willing to help out this amazing endeavor of love that we've started. Please remember why we are doing what we are doing:

1. To keep the memory of our daughter, Skylar, alive. She impacted so many lives in the 9 months that we carried her, we would like to have an impact on more lives in her name.

2. To offer some form of comfort to families which will endure the type of tragedy that we have had to endure, the death of a child whether it be in utero, or shortly after birth.

3. To bring knowledge to the awful occurence of stillbirth and just how often it happens. (I have recently read that, in the UK, every day there are 17 babies lost to stillbirth. That is 17 families who have to go through what we've been through. 34 mothers and fathers who have to go home with empty arms. 68 grandparents who will never get to hear their grandson or granddaughter's laugh or cry. It happens so much, and most of the time, we know so little about WHY.)

Thank you for all your love and support, Skylar's Wish would be nothing without people like YOU.

Greetings! First and foremost, thank you ever so much for coming and checking out our website. Whether you had purpose and meant to come here, or were just browsing the web and happened upon our humble little site, the fact that you made it this far means the world to us.

As you may or may not know, this project has been started as a labor of love.

Love- for our daughter, Skylar Rose... as we want more than anything to honor her, and keep her memory alive.

Love- for those parents we don't know, who are welcoming a new child into this world- healthy, needing help, or stillborn.

Love- for one another, the road we've traveled, and the road we've yet to walk down.

What we hope to do is to turn this collection into an annual event. Skylar's birthday is April 14th, and we would like to donate to Capital Health, Hopewell annually on her birthday. However, to get the ball rolling, and to get word out about what we are doing, we are going to make our first donation on October 14th-the day Skylar would have turned 6 months old.

We will be ordering iron-on tags for each outfit donated, with the website address for this, her, website on it, so that new parents-both happy and grieving- can learn about Skylar's story, and in doing so, learn some facts about just how common stillbirth is.

So basically, the new news is this-

*Collections of newborn size layettes, booties, and hats has officially started

*Each outfit will be donated with customized iron-on tag, which will have www.skylarswish.webs.com printed on it.

*The first donation we plan on making will be October 14th, 2013, on what would have been Skylar's 6 month birthday.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions-

Thank you again, from the bottom of the hearts. All your love, and the "gung-ho" attitude that we have been met with in doing this, has amazed us- you all amaze us.

Sincerely,

Lindsay & Wayne
