Skylar's Wish is a project of love, life, giving, and keeping a memory alive which was birthed through sadness, loss and devastation.

Skylar Rose Evert, daughter of Lindsay, and Wayne, was brought into this world on April 14th, 2013. What should have been one of the most joyous days of our lives was actually quite the opposite, as we found out less than 24 hours before her birth (and a week to the day before her due date) that our sweet baby girl had no heartbeat and would be considered a stillborn baby.

The time that followed Skylar's birth has been that of grieving, hurting, rehabilitating, healing, and learning to smile again. I've found that, as parents to a child who never got to live a life, one of the greatest fears is that our daughter's memory will be "swept under the rug" so to speak, or that she will be forgotten.  That is where Skylar's Wish comes into play. We've decided that, because of how much we cherish the layette (outfit), booties and hat that Skylar was dressed in, which were given to us by the hospital after Skylar was born, we were going to take up a donation of similar layettes/hats/booties and donate them to Capital Health Hospital in Hopewell, NJ, in memory of our gorgeous baby girl, Skylar Rose.

In donating these outfits, we want parents of children (both fighting to live and/or deceased) to have something to remind them of when their sweet babies entered this world.  Our WISH is that we can maybe bring a little bit of attention to, and knowledge of stillbirth and just how often it happens.
